MAINTENANCE
TIE-ROD AND BALL JOINT BOOTS (After '07 only)
Check the tie-rod joint nuts for loosenessCheck for looseness of the tie-rod ball joints or bearings by grabbing each front wheel side to side with the wheels on the groundIf any looseness is noted, inspect the following- tie-rod (page 13-29)front wheel hub bearing (page 13-15) TIE-ROD
BALL JOINT
Check the ball joint boots of the tie-rod and upper and lower arms for tears or other damage
STEERING SHAFT HOLDER BEARING
Make sure the cables do not interfere ith the rotation of the handlebar
Raise the front wheels off the ground and make sure the handlebar rotates freely If the handlebar moves unevenly, binds or has horizontal movement, check the steering shaft holder bushing and steering bearing, and replace them if necessary (page 13-24)
