DRIVETRAIN SYSTEM DTC 42-1 (SHIFT UPDOWN SWITCH CIRCUIT) Before starting the troubleshooting, check for
loose or poor contact on the handlebar switch lOP(Green) connector and peM 33P (BIlck) connector and then recheck the OTC
1Shift Switch Status Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON
Check the shift switch status and voltage in the
Data List Menu of HDS as follows:
3.64 4.08 '"4.0-4.99 O-O.99V
I 80th OFF
3.64-4.08 1.76-2.09 V
1.76 2.09 4.0-4.99 O-O.99V
Is the shift switch status norma'?
YESIntermittent failure
- GO TO STEP 2
2Shift Switch Line Inspection (PCMside)
Turn the ignition switch OFF
Disconnect the peM 33P (Black) connector
Check for continuity between the peM 33P (Black) connector terminals in each switch position (page 14-45)TOOL:
