ACAUTION
Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact ith the skin for prolonged periodsAlthough this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on daily basis, it is still advisable thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil This section covers service of the oil pump and oil coolerT he service procedures in this section can be performed ith the engine inst alled in the frame When removing and installing the oil pump, use care not to allow dust or dirt to enter the engine If any portion of the oil pump is worn beyond the specified service limits, replace the oil pump as an assembly After the oil cooler has been installed, check thaI there are no oil leaks Refer to page 4-12 for engine oil level check and oil change Refer to page 4-14 for engine oil strainer (in the crankcase) cleaning Refer to page 4-14 for engine oil centr ifugal filter cleani ng
