SERVICE INFORMATION
GENERAL
Some electrical components may be damaged if terminals or connectors are connected or disconnected while the igni tion switch is ON and current is present When servicing the ignition system, always follow the steps in the troubleshooting sequence on page 17-4 The ignition timing doas not normally need to be adjusted since the Ignition Control Module oeM) is factory preset The leM may be damaged if droppedAlso if the connector is disconnected when current is flowing, the excessive voltage may damage Ihe moduleAlways turn off the engine stop switch before servicing faulty ignition system is ohen related to poor connectionsCheck those connections before proceeding Use spark plug of the correct heat rangeUsing spark plug with an incorrect heat range can damage the engine
