BATTERY ICHARGING SYSTEM
BATTERY
REMOVALIINSTALLA TION
With the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the negative (-) cable first, then disconnect the positive (+) cable by removing each terminal boltRelease the connector boot from the clampRemove the two bo lts and battery ho lderRemove the battery from the battery boxConnect rhe POSI' fIVecable first and then fhe nega five (- cable
In stall the battery in the reverse order of removalAher installing the battery, coat the termina ls with clean die lectric grease
VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Measu re the battery voltage using commercially avai lable digital multimet erVOLTAGE (20' C68F) :
Fully charged: 13.013.2 Under charged: Below 12.3 V
BA TTERV TESTING
Remove the battery (page 16-6)NOTE: Always clear the work area of flammable materi als such as gaso li ne, brake fluid, electrol yte, or cloth towels when operating the tester, the heat generated by the tester may cause fire
