FUEL SYSTEM
SERVICE INFORMATION
GENERAL
Work in well ventilated area Smoking or allowing flames or sparks in the work area or where gasoline is stored can ca use fire or explosion Bending or twisting th control cable wi ll impair smooth operation and could cause the cable stick or bindresulting in loss of vehicle control Before removing th carburetor, place an approved gasoline container under the carburetor drain hose, loosen he drain screw and drain the ca rburetor After removing the carbureto r, wrap the intake port of the cy linder head with shop towel or cover it with pieces of tape to prevent any foreign material from dropping into the engine When isassembling th fuel system parts, note the locations of the O-ringsReplace them with new ones on reassembly If the vehicle is to be stored for more than monthdrain the float chamberFuel left in the float chamber may cause clogged jets, resulting in hard starting or poor driveability Refer to page 3-6 for fuel tank removal and installat ion
