Install the pinion joint onto the pinion gear shaft by pushing it in until the stopper ring seats in the groove in the joint

RING GEAR CLEARANCE INSPECTION
Install the ring gear with the shim into the case coverMeasure the clearance between the ring gear and stop pin with feeler gaugeCLEARANCE: 0.30.6 mm (0.010.02 in) RING GEAR CASE COVER
STOP PIN
FEELER GAUGE Remove the ring gearBe sure to wear heavy gloves to avoid burns when handling the heated gear caseUsing torch to heat the gear case may cause warpage
