REAR DRIVING MECHANISM It is important to turn the pinion while tightening the boltsIf the ring gear shim is too thick, the gears will lock after only light tightening
Install the case cover and tighten the bolts in several steps until the cover evenly touches the gear caseThen, while rotating the pinion gear, tighten the bolts to the specified torque in crisscross pattern in several steps8 mm BOLTS 10 mm BOLTS
TORQUE: 10 mm bolt: 49 Nm (5.0 kgfm, 36 lbfft) mm bolt: 25 Nm (2.6 kgfm, 19 lbfft)
COVER Remove the oil filler capRotate the ring gear several times in both directions of rotationCheck the gear tooth contact pattern through the oil filler holeThe pattern is indicated by the Prussian Blue applied to the pinionContact is normal if the Prussian Blue is transferred to the approximate center of each tooth, but slightly to the heel side and to the flank sideIf the patterns are not correct, remove and change the pinion gear shim with suitable oneFLANK DRIVE SIDE FLANK COAST SIDE FACE TOE FACE HEEL
