FRONT DRIVING MECHANISM Apply locking agent to the threads of the new ring gear boltsInstall the new ring gear bolts and tighten them in crisscross pattern in several stepsTORQUE: 49 Nm (5.0 kgfm, 36 lbfft) Inspect the slip torque (page 17-21)If the slip torque is out of specification, perform the shim adjustmentReplace the differential assembly when the replacement shim is changed by 0.3 mm or more from the selected shim (page 17-29)BOLTS

When the gear set, bearing, differential housing andor gear case has been replaced, check the tooth contact pattern (page 17-20) and gear backlash (page 17-18)Keep dust and dirt Clean the mating surface of the gear case and cover, out of the case and being careful not to damage themcover
