IGNITION SYSTEM IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR PEAK VOLTAGE NOTE: Check that the cylinder compression is normal and the spark plug is installed correctly in the cylinder headRemove the front fender (page 3-9)Disconnect the ECM 33P black connector
Connect the peak voltage tester or adapter probes to the connector terminals of the wire harness side using the special toolTOOL: Pin probe (Male) 07ZAJ-RDJA110

ECM 33P CONNECTOR (Viewed from the terminal side) Blueyellow

CONNECTION: Blueyellow (+)White (-) Turn the ignition switch to ON with the engine stop switch at" Crank the engine with the starter motor and read the pulse generator peak voltagePEAK VOLTAGE: 0.7 minimum If the voltage measured at the ECM connector is abnormal, measure the peak voltage at the alternator connectorDisconnect the alternator 5P connector and connect the peak voltage tester or adapter probes to the Blueyellow and White wire terminals of the alternator side connectorIn the same manner as at the ECM connector, measure the peak voltage and compare it to the voltage measured at the ECM connector If the peak voltage measured at the ICM connector is abnormal and the one measured at the alternator connector is normal, the Blueyellow or White wire has an open or short circuit, or loose connections If both peak voltages are abnormal, follow the checks described in the troubleshooting on page 19-4See page 11-7 for alternator statorignition pulse generator assembly replacement1 f
