ALTERNATORSTARTER CLUTCH
RECOIL STARTER
REMOVAL
Remove the following: wire clip (from the starter hosing) four bolts recoil starter assembly RECOIL STARTER ASSEMBLY
STARTER ROPE REPLACEMENT
When the rope has broken or the pulley has rewound, align the rope holes by turning the pulley 612 turns counterclockwise and hold
Pull the starter rope fully to align the rope holes in the drive pulley and housing, and secure the pulley with vise pliers or equivalent tool to prevent the pulley from rewindingUntie the starter rope and remove the ropeInsert new starter rope through the pulley, housing and grip, and tie the rope ends in square knotSet the pulley side rope end into the cavity as shownCarefully release the pulley and check the recoil starter for smooth operation by pulling the grip
