ACAUTION
Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the skin for prolonged periodsAlthough this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on daily basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oilThis section covers service of the oil pump, oil cooler and cooling fanThe service procedures in this section can be performed with the engine installed in the frameWhen removing and installing the oil pump, use care not to allow dust or dirt to enter the engineIf any portion of the oil pump is worn beyond the specified service limits, replace the oil pump as an assemblyAfter the oil pump and oil cooler have been installed, check that there are no oil leaksRefer to page 4-11 for oil level check and oil changeRefer to page 4-13 for oil filter replacementThe oil temperature sensor signals the engine control module (ECM) to start the cooling fan motor according to the engine oil temperatureRefer to page 21-15 for oil cooling system inspection
