Check the steering shaft for distortion or damage
Turn the inner race of the steering shaft bearing with your fingerThe bearing should turn smoothly and quietlyAlso check that the bearing outer race fits tightly in the frameReplace the bearing if the inner race does not turn smoothly and quietly, or if the outer race fits loosely in the frame
