COOLING SYSTEM
SERVICE INFORMATION
GENERAL

AWARIMING
Removing the radiator cap while the engine is hot can allow the coolant to spray out, seriously scalding youAlways let the engine and radiator cool down before removing the radiator cap
ACAUTION
Radiator coolant is toxicKeep it away from eyes and mouth If any coolant gets in your eyes, rinse them with water and consult physician immediately If any coolant is swallowed, induce vomiting, gargle and consult physician immediately If any coolant gets on your skin or clothes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water
Using coolant with silicate inhibitors may cause premature wear of water pump seals or blockage of radiator passageUsing tap water may cause engine damageAdd coolant to the system at the reserve tankDo not remove the radiator cap except to refill or drain the systemAll cooling system service can be done with the engine in the frameAvoid spilling coolant on painted surfacesAfter servicing the system, check for leaks with cooling system testerFor coolant temperature indicator inspection ('04'05: page 20-22, After '05: page 24-11)For engine coolant temperature sensor inspection ('04-'05: page 20-24, After'05: page 24-13)
