FUEL SYSTEM
SERVICE INFORMATION
GENERAL
Work in well vent ilated area Smoking or allowing Dames or sparks in the work area or where gasoline is stored can cause fire or exp losion Bending or twisting th control cable wi ll impair smooth operation and could ca use the cable Lo stick or bind, resul ting in loss of vehicl control Be fore remov ing the ca rb uretorplace an approved fue container under the drain hoseloosen the drain screw and drain the carburetor After remov ing the carburetor, cover the intake port of the cylinder head with shop towel to prevent any foreign material from dropping into the engine When disassembling the fuel system partsnote the locat ions the O-rings Rep lace them with new ones on reassembly If the vehicle is to be stored for more than one month, drain the fl oa chamberFuel left in th float chamber may cause clogged jetsresulting in hard starting poor driveabi lity See page 21-13 for carbure tor heater inspection
