Spilled brake fluid will severely damage the plastic parts and painted surfacesIt is also harmful to some rubber partsBe careful whenever you remove the reservoir cap; make sure the reservoir is horizontal first contaminated brake disc or pad reduces stopping powerDiscard co ntaminat ed pad and cl ean co ntami nate di sc with high uality brake degreasing agent Never allow contamina nts (e.g irt, water) to ente an open reservoir Once th hyd raulic system has been ope ned, or if the br ake feels spongy, the sys em must be bled Always use fresh DOT brake fluid rom sealed container hen servici ng th systemDo not ix ifferen typ es of flu id as they may not be compatible Always check brake operation before ridi ng he veh icle
