MAINTENANCE Install the rear crankcase sub-cover with the three
bolts and tighten the boltsInstall the heat protector (page 2-8)
ENGINE OIL
LEVEL CHECK
Place the vehicle on level groundStart the engine and let it idle for minutesIf the air temperature is below 10 (50F), let the engine idle for an additional minutes (a total of 10 minutes)
Stop the engineAfter few minutes, remove the oil filler capdipst ick and wipe it cleanCheck the oil level by inserting the oil filler capdipstick into the engine without screwing it inThe engine contains sufficient amount of oil if the oil level is between the upper and lower level marks on the dipstick
If the oil level is near or below the lower level mark, remove the oil filler cap dipstick and add the recom mended engine oil up to the upper level markRECOMMENDED ENGINE OIl Honda GN4 or HP 4-stroke oil or equivalent motor oil API service classification SF or SG Viscosity: SAE 10W-40 NOTE: Other viscosities shown in the chart may be used when the average temperature in your riding area is within the indicated rangeReinstall the oil filler capdipstick
