GENERAL
When checking the Electric Shift Program (ESP) system, always follow the steps in the troubleshooting flow chart (page 21-3)The ESP parts can be serviced with the engine installed in the frameThe ECU may be damaged if droppedAlso, if the connector is disconnected when current is flowing, the excessive voltage may damage the ECUAlways turn off the ignition switch before disconnecting or connecting the connectorsUse digital tester for ESP system inspectionFor vehicle speed sensor and gear position switch inspection, see section 20
