Apply locking agent to the threads of the two 10 mm boltsInstall the bolts and tighten them several steps until the cover evenly touches the caseThen, while rotating the pinion gear, tighten the bolts to the specified torque in crisscross pattern in several stepsTORQUE: 10 mm bolt: 49 Nm (5.0 kgfm36 lbfft) mm bolt: 25 Nm (2.6 kgfm19 lbfft) Make sure that the gear assembly rotates smoothly without binding

BOOT PINION JOINT Place the boot bands over the propeller shaftInstall new stopper ring into the groove in the propeller shaftApply of molybdenum disulfide grease to the propeller shaft splineInstall the propeller shaft into the pinion joint until the stopper ring seats in the grooveMake sure that the stopper ring is seated properly by pulling on the pinion joint lightlyInstall the boot over the pinion joint securely and secure it with the boot band
