FRONT WHEELSUSPENSIONSTEERING Insert and center rubber plug through the eye of the inserting needleApply cement to the rubber plugPush the inserting needle with plug into the injury until the plug is slightly above the tireBe caref ul not to Twist the needle and remove it from the tire; the push the plug all plug will stay in the tirethe way into the tire to prevent it rom alling inside
Trim the plug mm (14 in) above the tire surfaceRepeat the above procedure if the puncture is largeDo not use more than two plugs per injuryAllow the repair to dryDrying time will vary with air temperatureRefer to the tire repair kit manufacturer's recommendationsInflate the tire and test the seal by dabbing small amount of cement around the plugEscaping air will cause bubble in the cementIf there is leakage, remove the tire (page 12-7) and apply cold patch to the inside of the tire as describedIf plug has been inserted, trim it even with the inner tire surfaceTemporarily place rubber patch that is at least twice the size of the puncture over the injuryMake mark around the patch, slightly larger than the patch itselfRough the area marked inside the tire with tire buffer or wire brushClean the rubber dust from the buffed areaApply cement over the area marked and allow it to dry until tackyDo not touch the cement with dirty or greasy handsRemove the lining from the patch and center it over the injuryPress the patch against the injury using special roller
