MAINTENANCE
ENGINE OIL
Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the skin for prolonged periodsAlthough this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on daily basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil
DIPSTICK

LEVEL CHECK
Check the oil level after starting the engine and allowing the oil to circulate through the engine thoroughlyThis is especially important on dry sump engine, due to the comparatively large volume of oilDo not snap the throttle while idling or the oil level reading will be inaccuratePlace the vehicle on level groundStart the engine and let it idle for minutesIf the air temperature is below 10C (50F), let the engine idle for an additional minutes (a total of 10 minutes)Stop the engineAfter few minutes, remove the dipstick and wipe it cleanCheck the oil level by inserting the dipstick into the engine without screwing it inThe engine contains sufficient amount of oil if the oil level is between the upper and lower level marks on the dipstickIf the oil level is near or below the lower level mark, remove the oil filler cap and add the recommended engine oil to the upper level markRECOMMENDED ENGINE OIL: Pro Honda GN4 or HP4 (without molybdenum additives) 4-stroke oil or equivalent motor oil API service classification: SG or higher JASO 903 standard: MA Viscosity: SAE 10W-40 OIL VISCOSITIES Other viscosities shown in the chart may be used when the average temperature in your riding area is within the indicated rangeReinstall the oil filler cap and dipstick
