HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKE
BRAKE PADDISC
FRONT BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT
Always replace the brake pads in pairs to ensure even discpressure
Remove the front wheel (page 12-6)Remove the pad pin plugs and loosen the pad pinsRelease the brake hose from the clampRemove the mounting bolts and front brake caliper
Push the caliper piston all the way in to allow installation of new brake padsNOTE: Check the brake fluid level in the brake reservoir as this operation causes the level to risePull the pad pins out of the caliper body while pushing in the pads against the pad springRemove the brake pads
Make sure that the pad spring is in position as shownInstall new brake pads into the caliper body with the shim facing toward the pistonInstall the pad pins by pushing in the pads against the pad spring to align the pad pin holes in the pads and caliper body
