BRAKE FLUID DRAINING
CAUTION:
Do not allow foreign material to enter the system when fiJIing the reservoir Avoid spilling fluid on painted, plastic, or rubber partsPlace rag over these parts whenever the system is servicedWith the fluid reservoir parallel to the ground, remove the reservoir cover and diaphragmConnect bleed hose to the bleed valveLoosen the bleed valve and pump the brake leverStop pumping the lever when no more fluid flows out of the bleed valve
BRAKE FLUID FILLING
Fill the reservoir with DOT or brake fluid from sealed container
CAUTION:
Do not mix different types of fluidThey are not compatibleConnect commercially available brake bleeder to the bleed valvePump the brake bleeder and loosen the bleed valve, adding fluid when the fluid level the master cylinder reservoir is lowNOTE: Check the fluid level often while bleeding the brakes to prevent air from being pumped into the system When using brake bleeding tool, follow the manufacturer's operating instructionsRepeat the above procedure until air bubbles do not appear in the plastic hoseNOTE: If air is entering the bleeder from around the bleed valve threads, seal the threads with Teflon tape If brake bleeder is not available, fill the master cylinde and operate the brake lever to fi II the systemClose the bleed valveNext, perform the BLEEDING procedure (page 14-4)E v
