MAINTENANCE
ENGINE IDLE SPEED
If the engine must be running to do some work, make sure the area is well ventilatedNever run the engine in an enclosed areaThe exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas that may cause loss of consciousness Bnd may lead to deathRun the engine in an open area or with an exhaust evacuation system in enclosed areaNOTE: Inspect and adjust the idle speed after all other engine maintenance items have been performed and are ithin specifications The engine must be warm for accurate idle speed inspection and adjustmentWarm up the engine for about ten minutesRemove the right lower side cover (page 2-3)Turn the throttle stop screw as required to obtain the specified idle speed IDLE SPEED: 1.400 :t 100 rpm
