IGNITION SYSTEM If the peak voltage measured at leM connector is abnormal, measure the peak voltage at the alterna-
tor exciter coil connectorDisconnect the alternator exciter coil connector and
connect the tester probe to the BlackRed terminal and GroundIn the same manner as at the leM connector, measure the peak voltage and compare it to the voltage
measured at the leM connector If the peak voltage measured at the leM is abnormal and the one measured at the alternator exciter coil is normal, the wire harness has an open circuit or loose connection If both peak voltages measure are abnormal, check each item in the troubleshooting hart (page 17-3), If all items are normal, the alternator exciter coil is faultySee section 10 for stator replacement
