MAINTENANCE
ENGINE IDLE SPEED

If the engine must be running to do some work,
make sure the area is well ventilatedNever run the engine in an enclosed areaThe exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas that may cause loss of consciousness and may lead to deathRun the engine in an open area or witt) an exhaust evacuation system in enclosed area
NOTE: Inspect and adjust the id le speed after all other engine maintenance items have been performed and are within specifications The engine must be warm for accu rate idle speed inspect ion and adjustment
Warm up the engine for about ten minutes Remove th right side cover (page 2-3) Turn the throttle stop screw as required to obta in the specified idle speed
