FUEL SYSTEM

FUEL PUMP INSPECTION
Gasoline extremely flammable and is explosive under certain conditiomWork in well ventilated area with the engine stoppedDo not smoke or allow flames or sparks in your working area or where gasoline is storedWipe up spilled gasoline at onceIf the engine must be running to do some work, make sure the area is well ventilatedNever run the engine in an enclosed areaThe exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas that can cause loss of consciousness and may lead to death
Adjust the carburetor idle speed (page 3-7) and stop the engineDisconnect the fuel pump-to-three-way joint tube at the threeway jointHold graduated beaker under the tubeWARNING Do not allow flames or sparks, near the gasoline
Start the engine and let it idleLet the fuel flow into the beaker for 10 seconds, then stop the engine
