OIL WARNING SYSTEM
NOTE When the ignition switch is turned on, the oil warning indicator should come on for few seconds then go off
Oil warning indicator does not go off 1Disconnect the alarm unit 2P connector and check for resistance between BuR wire terminal and ground of the wire harness sideResistance should be about 10kQ with the engine cold (25C77F)NOTE: Resistance will be lower at high engine temperaturesNORMAL 2Disconnect the alarm unit 4P connector and check for continuity between BrR and wire terminals of the wire harness side with the ignition switch OFFNO CONTINUITY Faulty alarm unit

Short circuit in BuR wire Check the oil temperature sensor (page 20-7)

Oil warning indicator does not come on for few seconds, when the ignition switch is turned on1Check for burned-out indicated bulbGOOD BULB 2Check the alarm unit connectors for loose or corroded terminalsCONNECTORS OK 3Disconnect the alarm 4P connector and measure the voltage between BrR (+) and (-) wire terminals, and between BI (+) and (-wire terminals with theignition switch ON (page 20-7)BA TTERY VOLTAGE RESISTERED 4Disconnect the alarm 2P connector and check for resistance between BuR wire terminal and ground (page 20-7)NORMAL CONTINUITY NOT CONTINUITY BA TTERY VOLTAGE DOES NOT REGISTER LOOSE OR DAMAGED Loose or poor contact of the alarm unit connectors
