BATTERYCHARGING SYSTEM
ALTERNATOR CHARGING COIL
NOTE It is not necessary to remove the stator coil to make this test
INSPECTION
Disconnect the regulatorlrectifier (alternator) 3P (White) connectorCheck the resistance between the connector terminalsSTANDARD: .09-0.11
n (at 20C68F)
Check for continuity between the connector terminals and groundThere should be no continuityReplace the alternator stator if readings are far beyond the standard, or if any wire has continuity to groundRefer to section for stator removal

VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Remove the battery box cover and disconnect the regulatorlrectifier 3P connector, and check it for loose contact or corroded terminalsIf the regulated voltage reading (above) is out of the specification, measure the voltage between connector terminals (wire harness side) as follows: ITEM Battery charging line Battery voltage feedback line TERMINALS (+) and (-) BI (+) and (-) SPECIFICATION Battery voltage shou ld register Battery voltage should register with the ignition switch ON(1) REGULATORRECTIFIER CONNECTOR
