Check the boot for cuts or other damage; replace, if necessaryCheck the drive shaft joints for excessive play or noise by moving the joints in circular directionIf the outboard joint seems to be worn or damaged, the drive shaft must be replacedTo service the inboard joint, follow the DISASSEMBLY steps below(3) INBOARD JOINT (2) OUTBOARD JOINT (1) BOOTS

NOTE To replace the outboard boot, first remove the inboard boot as described in these stepsThen remove the bands and pull the outboard boot off the inboard end of shaftLoosen both boot bands on the inboard side, and remove boot band APull the boot off the inboard joint(3) BOOT BAND B
