CYLINDERPISTON
CYLINDER
REMOVAL
Remove the cylinder head (page 6-6) Remove the cylinder mounting bolts and cylinder
Remove the cylinder gasket and dowel pins
INSPECTION
Inspect the cylinder bore for wear or damageMeasure the cylinder I.Din and axis at three levelsTake the maximum reading to determine the cylinder wearSERVICE LIMIT: 74.10 mm (2.917 in) Calculate the piston-to-cylinder clearanceTake the maximum reading to determine the clearanceRefer to page 7-4 for measurement of the piston O.DSERVICE LIMIT: 0.10 mm (0.004 in)
Calculate the taper a'1d out of round at three levels in and axisTake the maximum reading to determine themSERVICE LIMITS: Taper: 0.10 mm (0.004 in) Out of round: 0.10 mm (0.004 in) The cylinder must be rebored and an oversize piston fitted if the service limits are exceededThe following oversize pistons are available: 0.25 mm (0.010 in), 0.50 mm (0 .020 in), 0.75 mm (0.030 in) and 1.00 mm (0.040 in) The piston to cylinder clearance for the oversize piston must be: 0.015-0.050 mm 10.0006-0.0020 in)
