BATTERY ICHARGING SYSTEM REGULATORRECTIFIER REPLACEMENT
Remove the rear fender (page 14-21Remove the junction box cover and disconnect the regulatorrectifier wire connectorsRemove the two regulator rectifier mounting nuts and the reg ulatorrectifierInstall new regu lator rectif ier in the reverse order of removal
ALTERNATOR CHARGING COIL INSPECTION
Remove the rear fender and the junction box coverDisconnect the alternator charging coil Yellow ire connectors and measure the resistance between the wiresRESISTANCE: 0.1- 1.0 11 Check also fo continuity between each wire and groundReplace the alternator stator if the resistance is not within the specificationor if either wire has continuity to groundRefer to section for stator replacement
