LIGHTSSWITCHES
OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
REMOVAL
Drain the eng ine oil (page 2-2)Remove the switch cover (page 20-5) Disconnect the wires (Aher '87: the wire) from the oil temperature sensor and remove the sensor from the right crankcase cover
INSPECTION
Suspend the oil temperature sensor in heated engine oil to check its operation Do not let the thermometer or sensor touch the pan, or false readings will resultConnect ohmmeter probes across the terminals of the sensor and measure the resistances 111 THERMOMETER (2) OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Replace the sensor if the readings are out of the ranges as shown
INSTALLA TION
Install the temperature sensor with new sealing washer in the right crankcase and connect the wiresTORQUE: 1520 Nm (1.52.0 kg-m, 11-15 ft-Ib) Install the switch cover (page 20-5)Fill the crankcase with the recommended oil (page 2-2L
