CYLINDERPISTON
CYLINDER
REMOVAL
Remove the cylinder head (page 7-6) Remove the cylinder mounting bolts and cylinder
Remove the cylinder gasket and dowel pins
Clean any gasket material off the cylinder base surface NOTE Be careful not to damage the gasket surface
INSPECTION
Inspect the cylinder bore for wear or damageMeasure the cylinder 1.0in and axis at three levelsTake the maximum reading to determine the cylinder wearSERVICE LIMIT: 81.10 mm (3.193 in) Calculate the piston-to-cylinder clearance Take the maximum reading to determine the clearanceRefer to page 8-4 for measurement of the piston 0.0SERVICE LIMIT: 0.10 mm (0 .004 in) BOTTOM Calculate the taper and out of round at three levels in and axisTake the maximum reading to determine themSERVICE LIMITS: Taper: 0.10 mm (0.004 in) Out of round: 0.10 mm (0.004 in) MIDDLE (3) TOP
