Check for continuity between pairs of commutator barsAlso, make resistance check between ind ividual commutateor bars and the amature shaftThere should be no continuity
STARTER SYSTEM
NO CONTINUITY BETWEEN COMMU TATOR BARS AND ARMATURE SHAFTNORMAL NO CONTINUITY BETWEEN CABLE TERMINAL AND MOTOR CARENORMAL
FIELD COIL INSPECTION
Check for continuity from the cable terminal to the motor case and from the cable terminal to the brush wireReplace the starter motor if the field coil does not have continuity or if it is shorted to the motor case
