FRONT WHEELFRONT FORKSTEERING
Remove the oil seal, back-up ring and slider bushing from the fork tubeNOTE: Do not remove the fork tube bushing unless it is necessary to replace it with new oneSee installation (page 11-22)Remove the oil lock piece from the slider Remove the fork piston from the fork tube

FORK TUBE, PISTON AND FORK SLIDER INSPECTION
Check the fork tube, piston and slider for score marks, scratches or abnormal wearReplace any components which are worn or damagedCheck the fork piston ring for wear or damageCheck the rebound spring for fatigue or damagePlace the fork tube in blocks and read the runoutTake 12 of the total indicator reading to determine the actual wear
