MAINTENANCE
Wash the element in non-flammable or high flash point solvent, squeeze out the solvent thoroughly, and allow to drySoak the element in gear oil (SAE 80-90) and squeeze out excessReinstall the air cleaner element on the element holderInstall the element holder stay to the holder and tighten the element band to secure the elementApply light coat of grease to the sealing edge of the element holderReinstall the element holder and secure it with the attaching screwReinstall the air cleaner cover and the seatrear fender0.6-0.7mm (0.024-0.028 in) SIDE ELECTRODE WASH IN SOLVENT SQUEEZE OUT SOLVENT THOROUGHLY GEAR OIL (SAE 80-90) SQUEEZE OUT EXCESS OIL
SPARK PLUG
Disconnect the spark plug cap and remove the spark plugVisually inspect the spark plug electrodes for wearThe center electrode should have square edges and the side electrode should have constant thicknessDiscard the spark plug if there is apparent wear or if the insulator is cracked or chippedMeasure the gap with wire-type feeler gauge and adjust by carefully bending the side electrodeSPARK PLUG GAP: 0.6-0.7 mm (0.024-0.028 in) RECOMMENDED SPARK PLUG:
