Section 11 BRAKES Subsection 01 (FRONT AND REAR BRAKES)
FRONT MASTER CYLINDER
Removal
Remove master cylinder cover and its diaphragm then drain brake fluid until front master cylinder reservoir is emptyRemove the handlebar coverRemove banjo fitting no4 and sealing washers no5 retaining brake hose no6 to front master cylinderRemove screws no7 from master cylinder holder no8 and remove master cylinder from handlebar
Installation
For the installation, reverse the removal procedure, pay attention to the following detailsPlace the brake lever assembly on the handlebarPosition cylinder holding bracket no8 with the UP mark upwardInstall bolts no7 and tighten looselyWith the handlebar in straight ahead position, position cylinder reservoir parallel to the groundTighten upper bolt first
Disassembly
Remove brake lever lock and brake leverRemove piston boot no9, snap ring no10, piston and spring
