Remove caliperRefer to BRAKESPull drive shaft out of differential no3
NOTE: Pull drive shaft strongly
Inspection
Inspect the condition of boots no4If there is any damage or evidence of leaking lubricant, replace themRefer to DRIVE SHAFT BOOT sectionCheck splines for excessive wearReplace if necessary
NOTE: If the splines on plunging joint no5 are worn, check of differential inner splines should be doneCheck the stop ring no6 at the end of drive shaftIf wear is apparent, replace the wear ring no7Check if the bearings in knuckle move freely and smoothlyIf not, replace themRefer to STEERING SYSTEMV07 HOBA

Installation
Apply XP-S synthetic grease (PIN 293 550 010) to the splines and insert the end of drive shaft in differential and pull joint little to make sure that the stop ring is locked in differential side gear groove
