Section 06 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Subsection 03 (STARTING SYSTEM)

GENERAL
First ensure the problem is not related to engine mechanical componentsIf not, test the starting systemCauses of problems are not necessarily related to starter but may be due to burnt fuse, faulty battery, relay, start button, ignition switch (DESSlengine stop switch, starting solenoid, electrical cables, connections or the ECMCheck these components before removing starterConsult the STARTING SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING table above for general view of possible problems
Make sure the main fuse (F8) and the accessories fuse (F4) is(are) in good conditionIf the fuses test good, continue with the next testsIIOTE: The solenoid may be the cause of burnt fuseIf the solenoid test good, one of the accessory may be defective
BATTERY
To check battery condition, refer to BATTERYIf it tests good, continue with the next tests&
WARNING

To avoid the possibility of short circuit while working on the starter, always disconnect the battery
