STARTING SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom: STARTER DOES NOT TURN12Ignition switch is in the OFF position
- Turn switch to the ON positionEngine stop switch is in the OFF position
- Turn switch to the RUN position3456DESS key not programmed for the vehicle
- Refer to DESS SYSTEMDefective DESS key or switch
- Check key and switchBurnt fuse
- Check main fuse and wiring conditionTransmission is not set to Park or Neutral position or brake switch is not activated
- Set transmission to PARK or NEUTRAL position or squeeze the brake lever or press on brake pedal
7Poor contact of battery terminal(s) or ground cable connections
- Clean and tighten terminal(s) 89Weak battery
- Recharge battery
Poor contact or open circuit of: start button, engine stop switch, ignition switch or starting solenoid
