Section 04 ENGINE MANAGEMENT (V-810) Subsection 03 (COMPONENT INSPECTION, REPLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT)
Pressure Sensor Function
When engine is started and it runs at idle speed, the sensor takes the atmospheric pressure and stores it in the ECMThereafter, it takes the manifold air pressure at operating RPMsEnsure sensor is correctly installed on intake manifoldOtherwise, the MAPTS could generate fault code for an unexpected sensor range at idle when it reads the atmospheric pressureRemove sensor and check for oil or dirt on its end and if problem persists, check throttle plate conditionposition and the wiring harness Perform the following testsVoltage Test Check the voltage output from ECM to the pressure sensorTurn ignition key ON and set engine stop switch to RUNDisconnect plug connector from MAPTS and connect voltmeter as shown
Quick Test Using VCK, look the MAPTS from the MONITORING section and read out the pressure value while engine is stoppedMonitoring
