Slowly and regularly depress the throttleObserve the needle movementIt must change gradually and regularly as you move the throttleIf the needle "sticks", bounces, suddenly drops or if any discrepancy between the throttle movement and the needle movement is noticed, it indicates that the TPS needs to be replaced or the computer used may be too slow to transfer data fast enough for real time display

Resistance Test
Ensure TPS is connected to wiring harnessDisconnect the connector from the ECM Using multimeter, check resistance values on ECM connector as per the following tableTHROTTLE IDLE POSITION WIDE OPEN THROTTLE POSITION
