ECM Connectors
CAUTION: If not using the ECM adapter, probe on top of terminal onlyDo not try to probe inside terminal or to use paper clip to probe inside terminal, it will damage the square-shaped terminal and this could lead to improper function of the engine management system

The most recommended and safest method to probe ECM connector terminals is to use the ECM adapter (PIN 420 277 010)This tool will prevent deforming or enlarging terminals which would lead to bad ECM terminal contact creating intermittent or permanent problems
