Section 04 ENGINE MANAGEMENT (V-810) Subsection 02 (DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE)

DESCRIPTION

ENGIIIE REACTION No effect

DESCRIPTION OF LIMP HOME EFFECT No rev limit but engine temperature is set to default value

Engine temperature senso voltage too low

Engine temperature senso or circuit wires shorted to ground
Disconnect the sensor and check for change in the fault codeIf the fault code stays the same, look for short circuit on the harnessIf the fault code is different, replace the sensorCheck for leakage between sensor's con necti on and groundCheck system circuits 2-A-ll and 2-A-n Check for disconnected engine temperature sensorCheck the engine temperature sensor for approximately 2280 to 2736 ohms at 19 to 21C (66 to 70F) Replace the sensor if necessaryCheck system circuits 2-A-ll and 2-A-27Check system circuits 2-A-24, 2-A-25 and 2-A-39Refer to the SERVICE MANUAL for complete throttle position sensor testing procedureCheck system circuits 2-A-24, 2-A-25 and 2-A-40Refer to the SERVICE MANUAL for complete throttle position sensor testing procedureCheck for damaged or disconnected connector on .fuel pumpCheck for approximately ohm between pins 5-FP-3 and 5-FP-4 of the fuel pump connectorCheck for approximately ohm between pins F5 and 2-8-29Check for approximately ohm between pins 5-FP-3 and 5-FP-4 of the fuel pump connectorCheck for approximately ohm between pins F5 and 2-8-29Check if system ci rcu it 2-8-29 is shorted to 12 V
