Section 08 BRAKES Subsection 01 (HYDRAULIC BRAKES)
Removal
NOTE: Before removing brake cable from vehicle, note cable routing for reinstallationBrake Pedal Side Remove the RH footwellRemove the device that attaches brake cable and master cylinder to the brake pedalExtract the end of brake cable sheath from master cylinder plate
Check cable for free movement into the cable sheathLubricate or replace if necessary
Installation
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure
BRAKE HOSESBRAKE TUBE
Inspection
Brake hoses and brake tube should be inspected frequently for leaks and damagesCheck if the hoses or the tube are crushed or damagedAny deformation can restrict the proper flow of fluid and cause braking problemsCheck hoses for cracking or scrapesThis damages can cause hose failure under pressureWhen hoses and tube are removed or disconnected, cleanliness must be observedNew hoses and tube should be cleaned with brake fluid before installation to remove any contaminationReplace any defective parts
