Section 06 STEERING SYSTEM Subsection 01 (STEERING SYSTEM)
seat and fuel tank cover (refer to BODY) fuel tank (refer to FUEL CIRCUIT) bolts no7, half bushing no8, bushings no9, stopper plate no10 and elastic stop nuts no11 RH footwell tie-rod ends no12 on the steering column side (see further in this section) elastic stop nut no13, flat washer no14 to bottom end of steering column no15
Unscrew bolts no7Separate tie-rods no12 from steering column no15Refer to TIE-RODRemove the elastic nut no13 and flat washer no14Lift up the steering column until the end of steering column is out of bearing no16Remove screws no17Lift up the upper bearing flange no18 to reach the bearingRemove bearing2 1

Twist and pull steering column aside of frame in downward motion

Inspection
Inspect steering column for damage, cracks or bending, replace if any problem is detectedCheck bearing no16 at the end of steering columnThe bearing should turns smoothly and freelyCheck if the O-rings no29 are brittle, hard or otherwise damagedReplace if necessary
