LOW OR NO OIL PRESSUREHIGH OIL CONSUMPTION(CONT'D)
9Check oil pump function- Oil pump rotor is out of wear limitReplace oil pump shaft (refer to LUBRICATION)- Oil pump seized due to oil leakage andor air inclusionReplace oil pump (refer to LUBRICATION)- Gears driving oil pump are broken or otherwise damagedReplace gears- Incorrect oil being usedUse high quality oil (refer to TECHNICAL DATA)10Check plain bearings in crankcase for heavy wear- Plain bearings out of specification (increased clearance)Replace all plain bearings at the same time (refer to CRANKSHAFT)
OIL CONTAMINATION (WHITE APPEARANCE)1Check leak indicator hole (oil pressure switch area MAG side) if coolant and oil leaks- Leakage of oilcoolant mixture from leak indicator hole means damaged oil seals andor O-rings on water pump housingReplace sealing rings, O-rings and refill with recommended oil andor coolant (refer to COOLING SYSTEM and MAGNETO COVER)2Check cylinder head andor cylinder base gasket- Gasket damaged or leakingRetighten cylinder head with recommended torque andor replace gasket3Check screws for torque- Screws not fixedRetighten screws with recommended torque andor replace oil4Check oil for particles (may indicate possible damages inside the engine)- Oil contamination due to metal or plastic particlesReplace possibly damaged partsUse high quality oil (refer to TECHNICAL DATA)
