Section 09 BRAKES Subsection 02 (HYDRAULIC BRAKES)
GENERAL
During assemblyinstallation, use the torque values and service products as in the exploded viewsClean threads before applying threadlockerRefer to SELF-LOCKING FASTENERS and LOCTITE APPLICATION at the beginning of this manual for complete procedure

BRAKE FLUID
Recommended Fluid
Always use brake fluid meeting the specification DOT onlyCAUTION: To avoid serious damage to the braking system, do not use fluids other than the recommended one, nor mix different fluids for topping up
WARNING
Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered toLocking devices (ex locking tabs, elastic stop nuts, self-locking fasteners, etc must be installed or replaced with new ones where specifiedIf the efficiency of locking device is impaired, it must be renewed
Fluid Level
With vehicle on level surface, check brake fluid in reservoir for proper levelIt should be above MINmarkAdd fluid as requiredDo not overfillClean filler cap before removingCAUTION: Use only DOT brake fluid from sealed containerDo not use brake fluid taken from old or already opened containersNOTE: low level may indicate leaks or worn brake padsFront Brake Fluid Reservoir Turn steering in the straight-ahead position to ensure reservoir is levelCheck the brake fluid level, the reservoir is full when the fluid reaches the top of windowVisually inspect lever boot conditionCheck for cracks, tears, etcReplace if damaged
