Section 05 ELECTRICAL Subsection 04 (STARTING SYSTEM)
Electrical Cables or Connections
Check all connections, cables and wiresTighten any loose cablesReplace any chafe wirescablesIf wiring and connectors are good, check the electric starterSee below
Electric Starter
NOTE: Starter is located in the middle of engineRemove LH footrest to give access to the starterRefer to BODYFRAMERemove carburetor to get access to the starterRefer to CARBURETORUsing boosting cables, carefully supply current from the battery directly to the starterConnect the BLACK (-) cable firstThen connect the remaining jump cable from the battery then to the starterIf starter now turns ensure the cablesconnections from battery to solenoid and to starter are in good conditionIf they test good, the NEUTRAL switch can be suspectedIf starter does not turn, check for mechanical problems in the starter
